My summer holiday so far sounds like Cat power, Noisettes,Bicycle Boambay Club, Fleet Foxes, Little Comets just for some silliness and beach days, farm days, hill days, quiet days , lonely days , reading days, musing days, pointless mission days. Some good old Nina Simone,Bjork,Frank Sinatra and Tracy Chapman for stability. And a little Mike Snow and Madlib to get the Party started. Fela kuti,Soweto Kinch, Herbie Hancock,Bjork and Coltrane on days I wake up feeling cheaky! Purple bananas!!

Birds of a feather
I know I should be home
comparing scars, making oats
but i must be alone
to write this down
you are a man of few golden words
and my mother’s loved you since fort hare days
in that game you remembered all the birds
that I would forget
and she lives in the cape
enfolded is my disgrace
of past where my back would break
i tried to be her
Ntakani le? Le, le, le?
Ntakani le? Le, le, le?
Ntakani le? Le, le, le?
Ntakani le? Le, le, le?
where jacaranda flowers fall
the younger, a spirit so tall
shoulders where all our burdens fall
the yoke will fall down
she hastens this call must end now
something burning, evryone is in the lounge
you’re the only who isn’t around
when will you come home?
scared is term i will not use
I am so used to this noose
If I throw it down what will i lose?
a feather or two…
Ntakani le? Le, le, le?
Ntakani le? Le, le, le?
Ntakani le? Le, le, le?
Ntakani le? Le, le, le?
I’m done questioning why this flock
you answer with blessings, I’m taking stock
they know my heart used to be a rock
yet they ask…
when will you come home?
comparing scars, making oats
but i must be alone
to write this down
you are a man of few golden words
and my mother’s loved you since fort hare days
